The design of the Chest of Kimono was a collaboration between a long-established paulownia chest store, a female architect, and a magazine publishing house. The result is a chest that not only provides ample storage space with its large drawers but also features a convenient and easy-to-use design. The drawers are designed to close smoothly and are spacious enough to accommodate various clothing items. The compact design ensures that the chest can be easily integrated into any living space without appearing bulky or overpowering.
One of the unique properties of the Chest of Kimono is its use of paulownia wood. This material is known for its ability to excel in humid environments and its resistance to bugs. The chest is made from carefully selected paulownia wood with beautiful grain patterns, and the paint used consists of natural plant and mineral-based ingredients, ensuring a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture. Additionally, the use of paulownia wood makes the chest sustainable and recyclable.
The Chest of Kimono is made using advanced woodworking techniques that highlight the natural texture of paulownia wood. The design takes into consideration the needs of modern living spaces and aims to create a chest that is both functional and visually appealing. The dimensions of the chest are W 1100, D 550, H 700mm, making it a versatile piece that can fit into various room sizes.
The Chest of Kimono features a frosted glass slit in the top panel, adding a touch of elegance to the design. The upper part of the chest has a double-leafed hinged door, perfect for storing obi bustles and obi bands. The lower part consists of three steps of drawers, providing ample space for footwear and other items.
